Welcome to our web site and our third newsletter.

We have been delighted with the number of enquiries arising from our web site and hope the insight it gives proves to be helpful and accurate.

Since our last newsletter we now have a new enthusiastic young dentist, Toby. His friendly and helpful nature has been really appreciated. His modern up to date thoughts are always welcomed and fit in well with our ethos of a modern caring dental team. We have really appreciated the help and encouraging remarks made by those patients who have seen him and know that the fact that he is taking on new NHS patients, as well as offering private care, has been well received.

We have also welcomed two new members of staff: Cathy, a dental nurse, to work primarily with Toby; and Penny as an additional receptionist taking on some aspects of the running of the Practice.

One of the most exciting news is that we have been accepted into membership of ‘The Good Practice Scheme’. This is a pilot scheme set up by the British Dental Association offering a benchmark of care, quality and professional commitment as judged by our dental association. We were all thrilled when we received the award giving our Practice another accolade of which we are all proud.

Richard is in the process of having analysed a detailed questionnaire completed anonymously by a random sample of his patients. The comments are always appreciated – it is pleasing to see how many are favourable and we will always try to improve any shortcomings brought to our attention. There is also a suggestions box in the waiting room – please use this or speak to any of us if you wish to pass on any thoughts concerning the care you have received.

BDA Award for Dental Practice

The work of the Maycroft Dental Centre has been recognised by the British Dental Association.

The practice, in Chobham Road, Woking, has been awarded a Good Practice Award by the BDA for providing a benchmark of care, quality and professional commitment.

It has followed 10 good practice commitments with 96 associated requirements.

Joint owners Richard and Jennifer Browne said: "This is another way in which our patients can be confident that all members of the team are doing their very best to provide the quality of service that you should expect."
